UK Government Seeks Business Views on U.S. Tariffs

The UK Government has released a Request for Input, seeking feedback from UK businesses on the new tariffs announced by President Donald Trump on Tuesday (2nd April). This move marks the next stage in the government’s ongoing efforts to shape the UK’s potential response to these measures.

Have Your Say

The next process for the Government is to gather insights from businesses on how tariffs could impact their operations. This feedback will play a crucial role in building the UK’s approach to ensuring that the needs and concerns of businesses are considered in any potential response.

By seeking input from affected companies, the government aims to safeguard UK economic interests and develop a robust, balanced strategy.  This Request for Input will be available for your participation until Thursday, 1st May.

Make sure you don’t miss this chance to have your say!

What Products Could Be Impacted?

As part of the process, the UK Government has released an “Indicative Long List” of U.S. products that may be subjected to future UK response.  This list encompasses roughly 27% of UK imports of U.S.-origin goods.

Though it is by no means definitive if your products are listed, it is likely that any potential tariff retaliation would impact products drawn up from this list.
