On Tuesday, November 14th, the UK signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Florida.
The Memorandum, which is the seventh signed by the UK with a US State, focuses on trade in financial technology, artificial intelligence and legal services.
Unlike country-wide trade agreements, state-level deals don't include preferential tariffs. The UK has been unable to negotiate a country-wide Free Trade Agreement with the US since President Joe Biden vetoed the idea.
Trade Secretary, Kemi Badenoch, stated that progress was also being made on a broader trade agreement with the US.
